In notable recent performances, Carly premiered the leading role of Jane Doe in Lyric Theatre Illinois’ production of Black Square <\/em>by Ilya Demutsky (2024), performed as Zerlina in Act I of Mozart’s Don Giovanni <\/em>at the University of Illinois (2023), and charmed audiences as Baroness Elsa Schraeder in The Springfield Little Theatre’s production of The Sound of Music<\/em> (2021). <\/p>\n

A sought-after collaborator for new and modern works, Carly has recently performed Louis Andriessen’s M is for Man, Music, Mozart <\/em>with the Illinois Modern Ensemble (2025), Steve Reich’s Drumming <\/em>with the Illinois Percussion Ensemble (2024), John Philip Sousa’s “I’ve Made My Plans for the Summer” with the Illinois Campus Band (2023), and premiered Brian Hinkley’s seven-movement chamber work Total Inaction <\/em>with the Illinois Modern Ensemble (2022).  In 2019 she premiered William Dicken’s song cycle Three Songs to texts by Thomas Hardy<\/em> in Springfield, Missouri and in 2017 performed the dramatic speaking role of Frederic Rzewski\u2019s Coming Together<\/em> in the Bremer St. Petri Dom’s Nacht der Kl\u00e4nge (Night of Sounds) <\/em>in Bremen, Germany.<\/p>\n

With a clear and elegant tone, Carly\u2019s voice is well-suited to early music. She sings regularly with the Baroque chamber ensemble, Concerto Urbano, and she has been featured as a soloist for many works by J.S. Bach including BWV 36b, 74, 110, 150, 199, 202, and his B-minor <\/em>Mass<\/em>. Other concert solos include Saint-Saen’s Christmas Oratorio<\/em>, Vivaldi’s Gloria<\/em>, Durante’s Magnificat<\/em>, Mozart\u2019s Coronation Mass<\/em>, Handel\u2019s Messiah<\/em>, Beethoven\u2019s Choral Fantasy<\/em>, and Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Carly\u2019s versatility makes her an asset to professional choral ensembles, as well. In December 2026 she will make her Seraphic Fire debut, contracted for their christmas tour, Noel: An Old World Christmas<\/em>. In 2025 she sang with the Spoleto Festival USA Chorus under Joe Miller, and in 2024 she served as the soprano section leader of the World Youth Choir (WYC), performing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and a newly commissioned work by Tan Dun with the German Youth Orchestra (Bundesjugendorchester). She was previously a member of the group in the 2023 Alumni Session and 2019 regular session where she performed featured solos in Josep Vila i Casa\u00f1as’ “Gloria” from Missa Sanctus-Benedictus<\/em>, and Eric Whitacre’s “Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine.” WYC tours have taken Carly to Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, France and Portugal, performing in such venues as Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and the Liszt Academy in Budapest.. <\/p>\n

Outside of her university studies, Carly\u2019s operatic training includes singing in the Ozarks Lyric Opera Chorus in the 2021-2022 season for performances of Puccini’s Turandot<\/em>, Monteverdi’s l’Orfeo<\/em>, and Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci<\/em> starring Michael Spyres. She was a Young Artist with the same company in 2018-2019 which included pop-up performances and masterclasses with Michael Spyres, and in the summer of 2015 she participated in the Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia. Roles to date, besides those mentioned above, include Marianna in Rossini\u2019s Il Signor Bruschino<\/em>, and Mercury in Offenbach\u2019s Orpheus in the Underworld<\/em> with the Missouri State Opera Theatre, and Alexis in Offenbach\u2019s The Island of Tulipatan, <\/em>The Fire in Ravel\u2019s The Child and the Spells<\/em>, and Casilda in The Gondoliers<\/em> with the Lee University Opera Theatre.  In January 2019, she and her colleagues were awarded second place in the graduate division of the National Opera Association\u2019s Scene Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah (photo middle-right).<\/p>\n

Carly is a first year Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice at Stetson University, where she teaches applied voice lessons, Vocal Pedagogy II, and two chamber ensembles. In 2026-27 she will teach two writing-enhanced courses: Opera Literature (Fall ’26) and Song Literature (Spring ’27). She recently completed her D.M.A. in Vocal Performance and Literature with a cognate in Voice Health and Science under Yvonne Gonzalez Redman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2025). She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Missouri State University (2019) where she studied under Dr. Carol Chapman, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education Vocal\/General K-12 (2016) from Lee University, where she studied under the late Virginia Horton.  Carly has previously taught Applied Voice, Class Voice, and Diction for Singers as an adjunct instructor at Missouri State University, Evangel University (2019-2022), and College of the Ozarks (2020-2022) and as a Voice Area Teaching Assistant at Missouri State University (2017-2019) and<\/span> the University of Illinois (2022-2025).<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
